At the beginning, and going back to the 19th century, sales promotions are used to clear a surplus of products that have not been sold. The aim is to run out of products in order to accommodate the new collection (summer or winter).
Today the fast fashion industry launches well over 2 collections per year; and sales or promotions of all kinds are used to increase sales. The original prices are simply inflated to make the consumer think they are getting a great deal. Beware of brands that sell off their products heavily: -50%, -70%... how far are they prepared to go?
At Kokùn Lab, there are no sales promotions because we don't take you for a sucker.
We offer you the right price all year round.
From time to time, we offer delivery, we offer a small percentage off. In this case, we make a real effort and take from our margin. But you'll never get more than a 10% discount at the Lab.
We go to stock clearance
We don't set ourselves the same frantic pace as the fast fashion industry. We offer you a design that will last for more than one season (at least 2 years depending on how it is received...) We don't want to clear our stock in record time. We take the time to sell out our stock and to do so :
We don't overproduce
We try to produce just the right quantity to avoid stocks sitting in the warehouse for too long. We also prefer to miss a sale than to order too much.
It is obviously not necessary to specify that we do not destroy stock, a common practice in fast fashion...
Why did we make these commitments?
- Because there is no Planet B. Why overproduce and use up the Earth's resources without need?
- Because the costs of a company are not on promotion. We pay our suppliers and employees a fair price.
- Because we simply respect our consumers
Kokùn Lab is not the only brand to follow this slow fashion approach and fortunately! Thank you for supporting us in this approach to consume less but better. 🌍
